Arrival Day - 17 June 2014
Met a few backpackers at the airport. I was travelling in the same direction with them and chatted on the bus. A lady was going to Fremantle, another Austrian guy had no plans at all, I introduced him to my backpackers' inn but there was no more vacancy so he left while I checked in into the cozy inn.
Day 2
Walked from my hostel to the Museum. I was too early and since the Museum only opens at 9.30am, I went to a nearby breakfast van to get a cuppa and a banana muffin which was so huge that I had it for lunch as well. After breakfast I went to State Library and there were very interesting exhibitions. Walked all the way to King's Park after the Museum visit and walked along the Lottery West Federation. Kinda got lost after walking through a scary path and ended up on Stirling Highway, the Blue House (Corner Edge Boatshed) was a surprise finding! I hung a bit at the Blue House while waiting for the bus to Cottlesloe Beach despite a drizzle. Wanted to see the sunset at the beach but it was cold and windy and cloudy. T.T
Day 3
Went to Rockingham to take the cruise to see dolphins but the cruise was cancelled due to bad weather. Was too careless not to have checked their FB page beforehand/ Took train to Guildford instead to walk around the area. Wanted to visit Swan Valley but apparently it was not accessible by foot from Guildford and it was raining so I explore Guildford instead. It was a beautiful and serene town. Oooh and I had the best dessert of life at Padbury's Cafe & Restarant. It was their specialty Chocolate Fondant. Awesome!
Day 4
Finally went back to Rockingham and had a reallly cool experience with the dolphins. There were about 200 dolphins living in the Shoalwaters and they were really friendly. I love the place really much because there is little or no human intervention on the animals' natural habitats except that the authorities cordoned off some areas and banned human activities near the animals' habitats. Other than dolphins, I saw the ospreys, sea lions and pelicans too. And there were also rainbowssssssssss.
Day 5
Fremantle Day! My favorites places there were the Fremantle Prison, Fremantle Market and the white art houses. Awesome place. :)
Day 6
Went to Bassendean Station to go to Caversham Wildlife Park but I was too early and there was no shuttle so I walked in and I was really glad I did because I got to see WILD kangaroos. OMG. There were so many of them! Okay I was a little scared because I was alone throughout the one hour walk and there were MANY kangaroos. Luckily, they were not aggressive and were so cute! Whenever the kangaroos see me, they would stop whatever they were doing and looked at me but when I approached them, they would just hop away. So... I walked and walked, ended up at Whiteman Park and was REALLY lost. Haha. I failed to understand that the 'Village' on the signposts refer to the place were Caversham Wildlife Park is. But anyway eventually I ended up at the right place and had a great time at the park because I got REALLY close to the Koalas and kangaroos (though captive ones are really tamed, they seemed to be too comfortable with humans). Oh look at the Wombat (picture below), so cute!
Day 7
Last day in Perth, was feeling so sad T.T Took the city bus to explore East and West Perth. West Perth was so beautiful that I spent a bit of time walking around and found a really really really nice neighborhood...
